+1, Ergo seats make a very noticeable difference, or at least for the rider, can't see the same won't be the case for the passenger, me and the Mrs both hated the OE seats, we have had a 1190 / 1290 / 1090 and me and the Mrs both found all of the OE seats crap - must be a KTM thing as the seats on all bikes were different yet equally shite!

So one option to go lower still would be to sell the 1190 R (89 cm seat height) and get the 1190 S instead (86 cm seat height or 87.5 in the upper position). You could then use the KTM Rally Seat instead of the standard seats and get a seat height of 83 cm, or get the Touratech one-piece seat and get a seat height of 82 cm.

KTM 1090 Adventure spec. Engine: 1050cc (103x53mm) liquid-cooled, two-cylinder V-twin. Suspension: 43 WP fork, WP rear monoshock adjustable for pre-load and compression damping. Brakes: 2 x 320mm 7/890 kicks ass. unless the extra 100lbs is really a problem, i'd get 7/890. as someone mentioned, there really is no great seat solution for 690. seat concepts offers the best option. i've done 300+ miles days on 690 and, even with the best one-piece seat, a two-piece s seat (especially, if built by sargent) is so much more comfortable. .
