The controls in Half Life: Alyx are awful. This games controls just feels dated. Why don't they just add a sprint button? They claimed to do all this work to make the game immersive but teleporting and not being able to sprint just ain't going to do it for me. That is the OPPOSITE of immersion.
I have a 3090 and 5800x. 120 hz worked in oculus overlay and the steam overlay but had forced reprokextion or AWS or something on half life alyx. I bought a link cable and still had the issue. I checked fpsVR and I was definitely hitting the frame times and 120fps in the game… but it was obvious to my eyes that it was reprojecting.
Hello, just got my Oculus Quest 2 yesterday and was super exited to play Half Life Alyx using the SteamVR pc link. When I get into SteamVR Home and launch the game it has extremely low frames (5-50) and gives me a warning when launching the game that says "High Graphics RAM usage" I've tried everything to fix it, but no change seems to happen. Half-Life: Alyx is pretty good at providing you with options to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible and play in a way that ensures you can minimize sickness. PSVR 2, Quest, SteamVR Right click on your desktop to go to the Nvidia control panel > 3D settings > disable V-sync (vertical synchronization), set the low-latency to "ultra" and adaptative VR on (with minimum pre-rendered frames). Oculus software > connect your headset and click on it to get a panel pop-up on the right where you can set the resolution and FPS.

2. In the Oculus desktop app, I went to Library and clicked the + button to manually add a game. Oculus didn't auto detect the game so I had to browse my C drive and find it, but it wasn't too difficult. After this, it worked first time by selecting it through my Oculus home in the headset.
